It's even more relevant 1 year after the Haiti earthquake. Most Haitiains are still in tents, no need for me to repeat the conditions, but guess who is being blamed for it the most: the many NGOs operating there that are being accused of not, to repeat PLO's story, bringing in the ship with the goodies to the shore. The best way to awaken us is to make it real that Aid is not a right but help. Kenya without oils has come close to funding its national budget alone, a sign Africa can. Libya is an aid giver. Very well said Sunny. However I differ with you where you say that this hat-in-hand attitude is driven by the best intentions. In my view, it is fueled by laziness: why create a self sustaining initiative when a sucker somewhere will fund it in the name of 'Saving Africa'?
