Sunny congrats for a wonderful work you are doing,
i have a question do you think our stock market is performing according to these fundamentals, consider the recent event at CMC,is there corporate governance ,transparency at NSE and Africa in general.
I think our commodity market has perfect information compared to stock market. Why i am saying this?consider the current inflation in kenya,a slight change in price will be reflected on the price tags of items in supermarket in 30minutes,compare this to our share prices, for instance KCB announces that it has open another branch but the share price still remain the same.
How can we explain this.

Peter:

And that is the worrying thing: that ordinary people are piling into the market on hearsay. If it continues, there'll be an almighty crash one day!

Great article, Sunny. I think Kenyans in general have peculiar habits especially in acquiring information: mostly it's not based on material facts but rumours and comments on blogs without any regard to the fundamentals of a stock.

Kapchanga:

I don't have any evidence of manipulation, but there is certainly a great deal of euphoria - what the US Fed governer once called 'irrational exuberance'!

This is timely writing, Bwana Sunny. We've seen magical changes in share prices in our stock exchange!
However bright the future of a company looks (in terms of sales, ROI, CSR, etc) share prices in NSE seem to take an opposite path! Share price manipulation?
