One negative case that exemplifies Sundry's description is the T-Spot in Koinange Street. They used to host Storymoja, but have because worse and worse, gradually, slowly, but inexorably. I know it because I have regularly eaten there *and* have discussed their increasingly failing with Storymoja (I was guilty to be the one who had first nudged Storymoja to try them out).
Another example with excellent service (best European standard), but mediocre middle class cuisine is the Thai Chi" in the Stanley Sarova. Decent, but stolidly uninspired.

Sunny,

Spot on, I concur with @Kibet and @Patricia.

I also wished to let you know about GotIssuez.Com which is gearing up to change the service delivery landscape in the future.

With the advent of the faster web (as we know it in Kenya at least) and increased penetration of mobile and internet in Kenya, we've created a platform to engage companies and bridge the gaping 'consumer-company' gap.

Since the death of the suggestion box, it was only a matter of time and now, GotIssuez continues to resolve and crowdsource issues from a community of young Kenyans seeking change.

If you're ever interested to hear more, do let us know, we highly appreciate your counsel on good service, and people like you and the ordinary mwananchi are who we're looking out for.

KIbet:

I hope the books help your staff to not do what the standard Kenyan restaurant does: take customers for granted.

Sunny,

As an avid reader,i have come across but only a few who write as well as you do...simply,creatively,with a tinge of sarcasm and still manage to pass the intended information to your audience...

Kudos...your article is SPOT ON!

Regards,
Patricia

Hi Bindra!

I loved this article as I always do to what you pen down.Iam a student of management and I have continuosly been a huge and unwavering fan of your thoughts!

When you chose to stick your steak knife to the restaurant industry,by extension the piercing got me.This is because before the article went out,I went with my leader to Book point and bought 13(thirteen)"Crown your Customer" to have our staff members read and pick the very basics of what service means!

And before all these,we used to host story moja crew,to date I have not known where they hold their Sunday briefs.Kudos Bindra, your insights is just a knowledge quencher.
