Most employer especailly the so called blue chip think in a box when it comes to staff recruitment. If they put an advert it will simply read must have a B.com and MBA.Billy gates would not have a chance of employment in such organizations. An organization like Kenya Brewery Ltd would not even consider any one over 25 years old yet if you ask them they would tell you they are equal opportunity employers! Do readers in such organization read articles on management?

Sunny,

I have learnt not to despair, for i have found that a good interview always matches the best of an employer and employee...

An employer who resonates your work ethics and values always picks you out....corruption aside.

All's not lost....

Brilliant article Sunny:-)

Mbogo:

The CV of Sunny Bindra has indeed been deemed unsuitable by HR departments (of companies that later hired me after a meeting)!

I agree with you: we have lost the meaning of talent.

Mr. Bindra.

"The idea of talent has turned into a superficial beauty contest. We think that talent is about credentials, qualifications, experience and references....."

This must be the understatement of the year!

Whether sourcing internally or hiring externally, today's HR managers are never satisfied and seem to be on a mission impossible to find "the perfect candidate". To some of them, even the CV of a man as accomplished as SUNNY BINDRA would be deemed as "not good enough" to be the strategy manager!
Ironically, it is not just a Kenyan problem. Even the "all-knowing" Americans seem to be affected by the same problem.
To understand what I mean, please look up the FORBES article I've linked below.
