This is a leadership programme with a difference: it does not involve physical bonding exercises, or role-playing, or real-time coaching. That is done much better by others. Fast Forward is about building WISDOM in business leaders – developing the deep insights and acute judgement that separates great leadership from the merely humdrum. It does this by assembling a very small group of current and future leaders and training them to think deeply about the real questions of leadership. How do I see the big picture at all times? How do I ensure that my organisation really connects with customers? How do I motivate people to do the extraordinary? And how do I ensure that my organisation is always on an action footing?
These questions will be answered by the participants themselves, the old-fashioned way. Fast Forward will utilise a modern version of an ancient technique: the Socratic Dialogue. By progressing through a carefully layered series of questions, participants will understand the intricacies that underlie these issues. The aim is to build the capacity to exercise wise personal judgement in all situations.
Fast Forward is aimed at current leaders who want to deepen their wisdom, and at those being groomed for future leadership. It also targets those who have had the nerve to start their own businesses and who want to raise their game. Each annual group will contain a stimulating mix of people, to reflect the diversity of styles and contexts of modern business leadership.
Fast Forward runs from February to July every year, in a number of sessions (schedule available on request). The key learning modules will be held at the Mombasa Serena in March.
